Welcome back, Streamers! Based on the number of tickets I’m seeing sold on my Regal App, we finally have a bona fide blockbuster of the summer, Deadpool & Wolverine. It’s here and so are the viewers. This third Deadpool movie finds our foul-mouthed mercenary having to team up with Wolverine to save the MCU timeline – oh, yeah, and defeat a mutual enemy along the way. Deadpool hijinks and nasty talk ensue.
Many may say that the MCU is having its ups and downs with their content production. Between the TV shows and movies, the MCU is having some hits and misses. Deadpool & Wolverine is going to be a hit. This movie touches pretty much every early 20th Century Fox and Marvel wet dream. I mean the fanfare and attention to detail from the comics is quite remarkable. This movie works as the perfect send off to the pre-merger movies and intro to the mutant world in the MCU. I mean the cameos, callbacks, and the comedy dealing with these issues are spot on. You can’t even say much about these things without ruining some of the magic the MCU created. Yes, every post on social media probably has already ruined it for you but we won’t here.
The other thing the producers and writers did so well in this movie was the humanizing storylines for both Deadpool and Wolverine. Of course, this isn’t exactly what viewers are coming to see, but it’s the attention to detail and genuine character development that has been lacking in some of the lesser MCU productions. Either way, this redemption story can be a bit of an annoying and unoriginal storyline; but if it’s done right, then there’s no issue, especially for characters that are slashing people up left and right and cursing like it’s no one’s business. I mean you’re already rooting for these two characters, but you also feel like you love them by the end of it all. Speaking of cursing, there’s lot of it. The gratuitous amount of vulgar language both works and is overwhelming at the same time. The only thing more gratuitous is the blood shed during fight scenes. The action of the movie is very violent and heavy on damaging private parts. Entertaining is to say the least of it.

It’s pretty easy to say that Deadpool & Wolverine brings the viewer a big box of fresh popcorn. Between the cameos, fanfare, potty-mouth rants, and violent fight sequences, you are hit over the head with entertainment. As the theaters are already packed, make sure you get out to see Deadpool and Wolverine.
