Halloween season has ended, Streamers, but the thrillers kept coming. We watched a late Netflix addition called, Don’t Move, this week. This movie follows a grief-stricken mom and a seasoned killer who injected her with a paralytic. Now, she must run, fight and hide before her body shuts down in order to escape. Survival tactics ensue.
This review will be short and sweet. Don’t Move is one of those movies that you’ve seen before but told in a slightly different way. It’s not original, or interesting, and yet you still want to see if this lady survives. The movie clearly lasts for an hour and 32 minutes, so she has to survive for a while but how and why. Some of it feels unrealistic, but let’s go with it. The movie is very tense throughout, but I was kept wanting more. America loves a trainwreck and a killer who is over the top crazy. This movie only has the latter. Finn Wittrock isn’t going to be a memorable character in the slightest, but he is able to kick the crazy up a notch to keep the viewers intrigued – although even his crazy moments are questionable. Other than that, the filming is very nice with the scenery and such, but that’s not what we came looking for.

Short paralysis long, Don’t Move is a movie I thought of long ago but lacking the comedy portion. The movie is tense and stressful but also somehow unrealistic and boring. Our antagonist carries the movie to the finish line and is pretty much the only reason to watch the movie. Grab a handful of popcorn and check this movie out eventually after scrolling a while.
