Welcome back, Streamers. March showers will bring Spring streaming movies. I think that’s how that saying goes. Either way, this weekend we were able to watch the second part of the Netflix Original, Code 8. This part of the movie follows a girl fighting to get justice for her brother who was slain by corrupt police officers. She enlists the help of an ex-con and his former partner. They face a highly-regarded and well-protected police sergeant who doesn’t want to be.

What can you say other than this movie can’t get more basic. In the first movie, there were only 4 powers, and now all of a sudden people just escalate with new powers… talk about trying to create a sequel. Then, this storyline couldn’t get more basic. This is the same exact story in most powered movies or power people vs powerful people movies. It’s quite frankly embarrassing that they just stole an old storyline. Ponit blank – this movie is just regular. You know what you’re going to get, and you’ll be slightly entertained but not wowed in the slightest.

Ultimately, Code 8 Part II is just a movie that never needed to be made. The movie doesn’t really further the story of the first and it doesn’t set up why a third installment would be necessary. The action is okay, and the story is stereotypical. Grab a handful of popcorn; and if you’ve already seen the first movie and you can’t find anything else to watch, check out Code 8 Part II.
