Welcome back to the Rebel Moon, Streamer! This month Netflix has brought us the second part of the Zack Snyder Rebel Moon series, Rebel Moon – Part Two: The Scargiver. Now, I’m not certain if this is the last installment or if he plans to keep building this universe, but in this installment, we continue to follow Kora. Kora and the surviving ensemble rebels prepare for the fight to come to Veldt, their new home. The warriors gab about their pasts revealing their rebel motivations before the Realm attacks. Typical battle hijinks ensue.
Honestly, I haven’t seen an action movie start and end more boring than this. Yes, this really is the middle movie in a longer saga but come on, storytelling matters. Speaking of storytelling, we literally spent another 50+ minutes going through the back stories of the main fighters for the underdogs, and I just wanted to rip my hair out. While some may have been more engaged and galvanized for the heroes, I just didn’t get a connection more than what was created in the first part. I just got sleepier. On top of this, I feel the visuals of the movie are a complete step back. We had different planets and animals and fighting styles, clothing, etc. This movie was basically on a farm in the same clothes the whole time. I mean they truly decided to skimp on the production budget.

Long story short, Rebel Moon- Part Two: The Scargiver was as boring as it comes. Honestly, they could’ve just added this part to the first movie. That’s how little plot progression, storytelling, and action occurred in 2 hours of this movie. The main reason to watch this is only because you’ve already watched the first installment. Either way, grab one popped kernel of popcorn if you are to watch this movie.
