May the force be with you, Streamers! This weekend presents the awaited jump to the big screen for Star Wars: The Mandalorian and Grogu.  This follows the beloved TV show, The Mandalorian, which airs on Disney+.  Once a lone bounty hunter, Mandalorian Din Djarin and his apprentice Grogu embark on an exciting new Star Wars adventure.  As usual, in a galaxy far, far away, hijinks ensue.  Let’s see if the Mandalorian and our new favorite Yoda can make the transition to the big screen.

Initially, the movie is too much like the show. Is that a good thing or a bad thing? Honestly, it’s both. Obviously, the show is very well-regarded, and this lives up to the same standard. The bad thing is this movie didn’t feel kind of like the show as the storyline is a slow burn.  The movie jumps right into the action, but the Maltese falcon were looking for kind of takes a minute for it to present itself.  Fortunately, for most Disney products that building anticipation pays off.

One surprise note about this movie… the music hits! The intro to Shakari is fire. I think that actually tracks from the show and Disney products in general. Score and sound editing to the max but this isn’t what you came for. You came for the cute loveable Grogu! And Disney gives you all you can handle

Long story short, Star Wars: The Mandalorian and Grogu is much like the television show, but it is elevated for the big screen. For those Star Wars fans, grab a big box of popcorn and head to the theater. For the everyone else, you be satisfied when this hits Disney+ but a bowl of popcorn at a matinee could be good too.
