Welcome back, Streamers! As school resumes for most of the U.S., it’s perfect timing to watch this working mom streaming flick, The Runner. This movie follows Gal Gadot as a high-powered attorney that has to give us a tour through London on foot to save her kidnapped son or her star witness from a mysterious caller tracking her for his villainous boss. London runner hijinks ensue.
This might be the shortest review we’ve ever done. I’m not even going to front on this one… it’s bad. It’s not so bad that you’d be ashamed to be associated with the movie or anything but it is bad. The Runner is basically a movie we’ve seen hundred times before. Parent’s kid taken and we have to get across town to save it. Well, this one is running in London. There are a few holes and things that wouldn’t make sense in the story but suspending belief we’ll just take it for what it was. So, we have unoriginal mixed with unexciting flick. It just didn’t inspire and probably won’t stick in your memory.
The one redeeming quality is that it’s short. Quite frankly, it’s too long for what it is but still I’ll give them a carrot. If I give the movie anything else, I liked the resolution of the movie even though it was pretty obvious. Despite all that, the reveal of it was still done pretty well. If I’m forced to explain anything else, Gal Gadot. Love her, hate her, like to look at her… she’s in the movie a lot and it is what it is. To me, she’s a boon but I won’t lie about her acting only being so-so.

This was short, but I’ll make it longer. The Runner is a movie. Yep, that sums it up and that’s the best I can give it. Grab a single popped kernel and check out The Runner after some serious scrolling or if you really love to see Gal Gadot running.
