Welcome back, Streamers! We’re a little behind the times, but there’s a lot of content out there with little time before Halloween season sets the screens a-horror. Nevertheless, we were able to watch Tyler Perry’s latest installment of his Why Did I Get Married? franchise, Why Did I Get Married Again? In this episode, the next generation of Why Did I Get Married? crew get a chance to experience their own relationship woes when the group gets prepared for Marcus and Angela’s daughter’s destination wedding. You already know, married couple drama and family hijinks ensues.
Now, yes, you do have to have seen the first two installments to fully understand what’s going on…. but do you have to remember the first two… probably not. The movie does an okay job summarizing and even flashing back to the previous movies to remind its audience, but it’s also just a way to make the movie longer without filming something new. (Tyler Perry always thinking about the bottom line. Am I right?) It helps with the information overload you’re about to get in a typical Tyler Perry flick, I guess. This movie is nothing different. Tyler Perry is awesome at throwing in a ton of problems for his characters to navigate and have resolved by the end of the flick. This movie is just like the others; however, the moral of the story is ultimately better than the movie that contains it. The moral, obviously, directed to the younger dating folk is that marriages aren’t all perfect even if they seem like it but also even when they aren’t perfect couples can work through it to be better for each other and their children. It’s not Earth shattering, but I guess it’s a worthy statement to make.

Long story short, Why Did I Get Married Again? is another installment to the Tyler Perry series we didn’t ask for. Tyler gives us a good moral for relationships and family to use in life but that’s about it. There are laughs, but the jokes are very corny. This would’ve been a waste of money in the theater, but it’s made for streaming. Check it out if you get bored with a handful of popcorn.
