This is going to be brief. Truly, I almost didn’t even write this review, Streamers, but a while back I watched, Honest Thief. Whoopee. Here goes Liam Neeson again trying to show off his certain set of skills. In this movie, Neeson is a thief who wants turn over a new leaf and have, guess what, an honest life. He’s a notorious bank robber but the love for a woman, Annie (Kate Walsh), has changed his tune. Neeson, as Tom, decides to make a fresh start by coming clean about his criminal past, only to be double-crossed by two ruthless FBI agents. And yes, this is where he shows off his certain set of skills. He will find you and he will make you be honest with him.

Look, we all enjoy Neeson’s movies but it’s getting old now, just like him. He’s doing the same character over and over just in different locations with slightly different sets of skills. Oh, this week he’s a retired military vet that shoots guns, now he’s a vet that blows up stuff, or he’s a former spy that finds people. We get it, Liam! You were bad as a “god” in a movie once and now you won’t make that mistake again. Stick to what you know. That’s fine and all but we don’t need to pay for that anymore. Of course, the movie has its moments as the Taken series did but this is quite frankly the most boring of the Neeson movies. There is no surprise to this or intrigue. You know what you’re getting and quite frankly you can watch a different version of it to be more entertained.

S2S: Official Rating Scale

Short story extra long, Honest Thief is just the latest Liam Neeson’s movie. You know what it is and how it will end already, which makes this something you don’t have to rush to see. Solid background noise on a boring day but this is the most boring of the Neeson genre. He has a certain set of skills and he will use them to fill your hand full of popcorn.
