Streamers, we’ve been telling you there’s tons and tons of content out there to watch and the movie I just watched falls in line. No Exit wasn’t even on my gps because Hulu is a last resort, desperation streaming app for me. Nevertheless, after watching Fresh, I figured I’d give this movie a shot. No Exit is a streaming flick about a group of individuals finding themselves stuck during a blizzard at a highway rest stop in the mountains. Our main squeeze Darby, played by Havana Rose Liu, finds a kidnapped child hidden in a car belonging to one of the people inside. She has to find out whodunit and how to get out. of there. Let’s see if Hulu came in the clutch.

Fresh-face-alert – Havana Liu seems pretty new to the acting world and based on this we’ll probably see her in many other things. She is a solid lead to root for throughout the film. Semi-fresh-face-alert goes out to Danny Ramirez. He’s been in a bunch of things over the last few years including a small role in Falcon and the Winter Soldier but probably more famously he’ll be in Top Gun: Maverick, coming soon. Either way, the cast as a whole even as slight as it is plays their roles really well. Each person has their niche and plays it to the T, even you “What’s in your wallet” man. Yes, he’s been in tons of things other than those commercials over the decades but y’all know who I’m talking about. Sidenote: Strangely enough this movie was filmed in Auckland, New Zealand but it’s supposed to be somewhere between California and Nevada and in the middle of a huge snowstorm. It’s one of the most random and confusing facts but then I think that this is definitely just a pandemic movie. You can film it anywhere with your cast of 7 in one single location primarily and it’ll be fine. But I digress.

The movie has a simple plot as explained above: who kidnapped this kid and how will we get out of this place. Simple enough but the movie has enough twists and turns, drama, and thrills to keep you invested until the end. I don’t know if I find this movie particularly groundbreaking or original but it gets the job done.

S2S: Official Rating Scale

Long story short, No Exit is a solid pandemic/streaming movie. Short on the number of cast members but not light on the output, except for you Dale Dickey. Suspense, twists, turns, and bloody messes will keep you focused through the movie. Grab a bowl of popcorn and enjoy this thriller in maniller.
